Description
Strong, penetrating and helpful for opening airways and relieving the pain of blocked and congested sinuses. Paion oil is a powerful aid in dealing with bronchial issues and winter colds and ‘flu.
Uses
- For children aged 6 and over, put a few drops onto a tissue and inhale.
- For children aged 12 and over, dilute then massage into chest and areas of pain.
- Put a few drops into hot water and breathe in the vapours. Inhale the vapour by holding the bottle close to (but not inside) the nose and breathing in. At night put a few drops onto nightclothes or bedding so that it can be inhaled whilst sleeping.
Dilution
Dilute to 3% or less in a suitable carrier oil before skin application.
Emotional Properties
Enhances mental clarity and precision, uplifts the spirit while it cleanses the air, dispels negative thoughts and energies and break habits and compulsions. It is stimulating and lifts exhaustion and mental sluggishness and rejuvenates the spirits of the sick. It helps to energize and relieve exhaustion, ease inflammation and spasms, improve mental clarity and memory. It is said to exert a cleansing effect on the mental and spiritual planes as well as on the physical. Refreshes the mind and boosts concentration. It can ease headaches, cool and calm anger and hysteria.
Contraindications
- Essential oils can be powerful so to avoid all risks do not use during pregnancy.
- Avoid if suffering from previous allergic reactions to any of the Essential Oils used in the preparation.
- Avoid direct contact with mucus membranes.
- Avoid with the use of cardiac stabilizing medications, including quinidine.
- Avoid use with children under 6 years of age.
- Avoid if suffering from liver damage, gallbladder inflammation and gallstones.
- Avoid in cases of high blood pressure. Avoid if suffering from epilepsy or seizures.
- Avoid if suffering kidney problems.
- Avoid if suffering from epilepsy.
- Avoid if suffering from GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease).
- Avoid if using blood thinning medication such as Warfarin.
- Avoid if using or allergic to aspirin or suffering from digestive disorders such as ulcers, IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) or diverticulitis.
