Benzoin is considered helpful as a diuretic and antiseptic to the urinary passages but is known to have sedative properties. It furthermore boosts the pancreas, which in turns helps digestion, and is thought to be involved in controlling blood sugar, which makes it valuable for sufferers of diabetes.
It is useful as a euphoric with warming properties, so it has a considerable reputation for the treatment of arthritis.
It improves skin elasticity, helping cracked skin, while healing sores and wounds and reducing redness, irritation and itching.
It relaxes in times of stress and promotes generosity and concentration
Use Benzoin in a vaporizer for soothing tension, dispelling anger, diminishing irritability, relieving stress & anxiety, and overcoming depression.
Used in a steam-based diffuser it can be used as an expectorant and decongestant with bronchitis and helps with coughing and laryngitis.
Add a couple of drops of Benzoin oil in an oil burner to purify and cleanse an atmosphere.
