Contraindications
- Avoid use of essential oils during pregnancy.
- Avoid Atlas Cedar with high blood pressure or heart problems.
- Avoid use of Birch on open wounds and with children under the age of 12 years.
- Avoid Cedarwood with high blood pressure or heart problems.
- Avoid Eucalyptus with high blood pressure.
- Avoid Fir Needle in the sun.
- Avoid Frankincense if taking blood thinning medication.
- Avoid Pine if suffering from kidney disorders.
Atlas Cedar
Effective in lowering stress levels and reducing pressure from nervous tension. An aphrodisiac and combats negativity. Extensively used in the treatment of whooping coughs, bronchitis, arthritis, cystitis etc.
Dilute to 1% or less
Birch
Birch Oil stimulates the nervous, circulatory, digestive, and excretory systems. It is helpful with diabetes.
Dilute to 2% or less
Cedarwood
Good for stressful situations – it soothes and harmonizes the mind. Good for meditation as it encourages the mind to concentrate and exclude extraneous sounds. Most useful for respiratory complaints such as bronchitis, coughs and catarrh.
Dilute to 1% or less
Cypress
Can improve acne and other skin diseases through increased perspiration. It protects the liver, regulating the proper discharge of bile. Useful for varicose veins, cellulite, asthma, bronchitis, and diarrhoea. Good vasoconstrictor.

Eucalyptus
Analgesic and anti-inflammatory so useful for rheumatism, lumbago, sprained ligaments and tendons, stiff muscles. Useful as a chest rub during cold season

Fir Needle
It fights sore throat and respiratory infections, fatigue, muscle aches and arthritis. It has cleansing properties as well as its free radical scavenging and bacteria destroying abilities, so it can be helpful to people who are trying to detoxify their bodies.

Rejuvenating, excellent for dry and mature skin and anti-wrinkle. Eases shortness of breath. Good for asthma, head colds and catarrh. Useful for arthritis, healing wounds, sores and ulcers.

Pine is analgesic, antibacterial, antibiotic, antifungal, antiseptic and antiviral. Used for arthritis, asthma, bladder infections, bronchitis, catarrh, colds, coughs and as a decongestant. Also increases the metabolism and boosts activity levels.

Rosewood
A calming and steadying oil – good to use during exams or when driving, it’s also a great oil for the relief of stress, an aphrodisiac and a good deodorant. Useful for mature skin, its rejuvenating nature makes it helpful for wrinkles and in anti-stretchmark creams.

Sandalwood Amyris
It is used for mental strain and stress and is also known to uplift the mood. It can help to clear the mind and induce a meditative state. Strengthens resolve and imparts courage.

Tea Tree
Tea tree oil increases the body’s ability to fight off any infections. Diffused, tea tree oil helps with colds, sinusitis, bronchitis and any other respiratory ailment. Diluted to 2% and applied to the skin, it will help with any fungal, bacterial as well as viral infections.

Dilute all oils in a suitable carrier such as Grapeseed (Vitis vinifera) or a blend of Grapeseed and Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) oil before skin application.
